This is an excellent image of a volcano eruption. Red hot stones, ash, and lava are pushed out of the depths to the air above, and the hot lava streams down into the sea. The overall atmosphere of the painting is underlined by the dark blue color of the sky, of the sea and the full moon makes a final tuning of the mood. I can look at the picture for a while, but I definitely wouldn't like to get close to that volcano.
