Flatten the canvas, compare it with the reference image, and arrange the paint pots so the numbers are easy to find. Identifying the broad background areas and the most detailed focal areas before you start makes the project easier to organize.

Keep the numbered lids visible, open only the colors you are actively using, and rinse and dry the brush well between close shades. If two colors look nearly identical in the pots, rely on the printed numbers rather than guessing by eye.

Use the smallest brush for narrow numbered sections, eyes, thin branches, lettering, sharp corners, and edges around detailed subjects. Larger brushes are faster and smoother for broad sky, wall, water, or background areas.
